IncrediBuild stops or hangs after "Initializing..." phase

Symptoms:

The build starts correctly with the "Initializing..." phase however it stops right after this phase. It is also possible that the build will hang in the "Preparing build tasks" phase.
When clicking on the red vertical bar - there is no error in the "output" section of the Build Monitor

Cause and Solution:

The most common cause is related to the "update" version of Visual Studio 2012. We have discovered that "update 1" and "update 2" might cause this behavior so it is recommended to upgrade to "update 4" (or latest).

Another cause might be related to environmental issues. If the same build is successfully performed on other machine then it is possible that a certain setting or security restriction that is specific for the problematic machine is causing this issue.
Please compare the problematic machine setting with the machine that doesn’t has this problem. Usually it is the permission / security settings that can cause this problem.
